What types of BMXs do these caps fit?
Insane Chains are designed for BMX bikes with a 1/2" x 1/8" chain - the most common size for BMX.
Do they work on BMX bikes?
Yes — they’re perfect for BMX setups. Our caps hold tight during wheelies, dirt tracks, and jumps. Just make sure your chain is the standard 1/2" x 1/8" size.
Do the caps stay on during heavy riding?
Yes. SE Bike Pro Rider Wicho Rodriguez has had his Insane Chains snapped on for 3 years and they have never come off.
Do they fit half-link chains?
No — Insane Chains do not fit bikes with full half-link chains. If you only have one half-link piece, you’ll just have a small gap in your cap coverage.
Will the color last in sun and rain?
Yes. Insane Chains are built to last with colorfast plastic that resists UV fading and won’t chip or crack in the weather.
How many caps do I need for a full-size BMX?
Adult and teen bikes (16" wheel and bigger) typically need 56 caps for full coverage. Each box in this collection includes 56 pieces — enough for one full chain.
